Located in the Decatur County Courthouse on Water Street in Bainbridge, Ga., this office is responsible for placing the value on all property, real and personal, for the Tax Digest in Decatur County.

The Board of Tax Assessors assesses property in the county for tax purposes and to compile the Tax Digest. It is a five-member board that includes Chairman Joe Hartzog, Vice-chair Rusty Davis, Gloria Freeman, Johnny Skipper and Larry Carroll.
The Board of Equalization is a six-member board that hears appeals on decisions made by the Board of Tax Assessors. Members include regulars Clayton Penhallegon, Bobby Stubbs and Tom Conway and alternates Zach Calhoun, Murray Hornsby and Phillip Breedlove.
